Dr. Ebrahim Bagheri

Professor Bagheri's research centres on responsible information retrieval, natural language processing, and knowledge graphs, with sustained engagement across industry, government, and civil society. A recipient of the NSERC Synergy Award for Innovation, he has founded and led interdisciplinary training initiatives on the responsible development of AI.

Dr. Sarath Chandar

Dr. Chandar leads the Chandar Research Lab and is a core academic member of Mila. His research advances interactive learning algorithms capable of continual learning from experience, spanning deep learning, reinforcement learning, optimization, and natural language processing.

Dr. Jackie C. K. Cheung

Associate Professor, School of Computer Science · McGill University · Mila

Dr. Cheung co-directs McGill's Reasoning and Learning Lab and is an associate scientific co-director at Mila. His research in natural language processing focuses on language generation, summarization, evaluation, and the integration of knowledge for computational semantics and commonsense reasoning.

Dr. Golnoosh Farnadi

Dr. Farnadi founded and leads the EQUAL Lab and co-directs McGill's Collaborative for AI and Society. Her research advances algorithmic fairness, responsible AI, and privacy-preserving machine learning, with a focus on addressing bias and discrimination in AI systems.

Dr. Nicholas Rhinehart

Dr. Rhinehart leads the Learning, Embodied Autonomy, and Forecasting (LEAF) Lab and is cross-appointed to the Department of Computer Science. His research develops the algorithmic foundations of robot learning for autonomous systems, drawing on reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and information theory.

Dr. Laura C. Rosella

Professor, Dalla Lana School of Public Health · University of Toronto

Dr. Rosella holds the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Population Health Transformation and Analytics and founded the Population Health Analytics Lab. A member of the College of the Royal Society of Canada, she applies epidemiologic methods and predictive analytics to population health and the responsible application of AI.

Dr. Zahra Shakeri

Dr. Shakeri directs the Health Informatics, Visualization, and Equity (HIVE) Lab. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School, her research spans health data science, information visualization, precision public health, and the application of NLP and AI to improve health outcomes.

Dr. Sharon E. Straus

A geriatrician and clinical epidemiologist, Dr. Straus holds the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Knowledge Translation and Quality of Care and directs the Knowledge Translation Program at St. Michael's Hospital. She is a Member of the Order of Canada and among the most highly cited clinical researchers.

Dr. Andrea C. Tricco

Dr. Tricco holds the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Knowledge Synthesis for Knowledge Users and serves as Executive Director of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute at St. Michael's Hospital. A Member of the Royal Society of Canada, she leads methodological advances in scoping reviews, rapid reviews, and network meta-analysis.

Dr. Samira A. Rahimi

Dr. Rahimi holds the Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in AI and Advanced Digital Primary Health Care and co-directs McGill's Collaborative for AI and Society. Her interdisciplinary research develops AI-enabled decision-support tools to improve primary health care, with attention to underserved populations.

Dr. Nur Camellia Zakaria
